Scholarships

The application period for the 2026-2028 scholarship applicants is OPEN!

MultiDiverse offers each year around 12 scholarships to students from any country around the world. Scholarships have a duration of the four semesters of the programme (24 months). Scholarship holders receive for  24 months:

  • waiver of the participation costs,

  • a monthly allowance of EUR 1.400 to cover travel, visa, installation, and subsistence costs,

  • a health insurance.

How does MultiDiverse award scholarships?

  • In the online application form, candidates have to indicate whether or not they would like to be considered for an EMJM scholarship;

  • EMJM scholarships are awarded based on the ranking of applications during the application and selection procedure;

  • The Quality and Management Committee will manage the selection process and will create a ranking list of all students based on the selection criteria.

What are the selection criteria for the scholarships?

The selection criteria for the scholarships are the same as the selection criteria for the programme.

Selection criteria for the programme

The selection criteria for the scholarships and the programme follow a four-step process:

Step 1: Eligibility check to find out if the candidate meets the eligibility criteria for acceptance to the programme:

  1. A in Linguistics, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Speech & Language Therapy, or related discipline. The grade point average of your bachelor's degree should at least correspond to the German grade 3.0 (satisfactory).

  2. Documentation of (spoken and written English) at the C1 level or above (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Applicants with a degree in a bachelor’s or master's programme taught in English or who have attended an English-language secondary school do not have to document their English language skills.

  3. The application is complete and includes all required application documents.

Step 2: All eligible candidates are ranked based on the following five criteria (which are the same as for the admission to the programme):

  1. The grade of the previous university degree(s);

  2. The fit of the content of the courses from the previous bachelor’s degree or other master’s degree programmes;

  3. Internships and other professional experiences that are relevant to MultiDiverse (proof with corresponding certificates are necessary);

  4. The letter of motivation;

  5. The letters of recommendation.

Step 3: Consideration of the candidate's nationality in line with the Erasmus Mundus programme guidelines that not more than 10% of the scholarships can be allocated to students with the same nationality.

The best 10% of candidates with the same nationality during the entire funding period are offered scholarships in line with the Erasmus Mundus programme guidelines.

Step 4: Offers to the programme and the scholarship

The candidates with the highest ranking will be offered a place in the programme and a scholarship. A small number of candidates who are ranked high but lower than the ones who are offered a scholarship, will be offered a place in the programme as self-payers - see below.

When will candidates receive offers to the programme and scholarship offers?

  • Applicants will be offered a place with or without a scholarship in mid-June 2026;

  • If students who have been offered a scholarship withdraw, their place will be offered to the next students in the ranking list who have been accepted to the programme.

Notes:

1. Students who have already obtained an EMJM scholarship from another programme are not eligible for a second EMJM scholarship.

2. The MutliDiverse team reserves the right to conduct interview if needed.

Self-payers

The application period for 2026-2028 self-payer applicants is OPEN!
