Admission requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Speech & Language Therapy, or related discipline. The grade point average of your bachelor's degree should at least correspond to the German grade 3.0 (satisfactory). 

  • Documentation of advanced English language skills (spoken and written English), level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Applicants with a degree in a bachelor’s or master's programme taught in English or who have attended an English-language secondary school do not have to document their English language skills.

  • An application letter in English providing information on the applicant's motivation, suitability and relevant experience for the study programme as well as a reasoned statement indicating which university and which subject the applicant prefers for their Master’s thesis

  • Relevant work placements and other professional experience (optional)

  • Two reference letters.

Application documents

Applications are online through the University of Konstanz portal ZEuS - see button below. 

 

The following documents need to be submitted through the portal: 

  • Proof of a qualifying degree (grade of at least 3.0) from a degree programme lasting at least three years at a state or state-recognised university or German vocational academy in the subject of Linguistics, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Educational Science, Sociology, Speech & Language Therapy or related subjects (minimum qualification: Bachelor of Arts [B.A.] or Bachelor of Science [B.Sc.] or equivalent academic degree)

  • Documentation of advanced English language skills (spoken and written), level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Applicants with a degree in a bachelor’s or master's programme taught in English or who have attended an English-language secondary school do not have to document their English language skills.

  • An academic CV in English in the Europass format, which also includes details of language skills

  • An application letter in English (at most one page), providing information on your motivation, suitability and relevant experience for the study programme as well as a reasoned statement indicating which university and which subject the applicant prefers for their Master’s thesis

  • Optionally: evidence of relevant work placements and other professional experience

  • Two academic reference letters or one academic reference letter and one professional reference letter

  • A copy of a valid identity card or passport showing the applicant’s nationality and, where applicable,for students with multiple nationalities, a declaration stating the nationality under which they are submitting their application; German nationals with multiple nationalities may only participate in the admissions procedure in accordance with Section 1(2) of the Higher Education Admissions Ordinance (HZVO) on the basis of their German nationality.

 

Notes:

1. If your documents are not available in English, you will need to have them translated. Please submit an English translation of your documents along with the original versions.

2. The MutliDiverse team reserves the right to conduct interview if needed.

Applicants from China, India and Vietnam: APS certificate (original) issued by the German Embassy of your home country.
